For years, wireless signals have broadcasted over the 5GHz bands within U-NII 1 through 3. In addition to 5GHz, Bolt 6 utilizes U-NII 5, aka "6GHz”—with 12 new channels to access a new clear radio frequency (RF) environment. This means fewer devices competing for bandwidth, less interference, and the ability for more wireless links to coexist in a single area.
The Bolt 6 Series uses both the 6GHz and 5GHz unlicensed bands, so you can avoid signal congestion by using the U-NII 5 capability in Bolt 6, while retaining the ability to operate in 5GHz bands. Every Bolt 6 TX and RX device can be paired with any Bolt 4K device — regardless of range. The maximum range of the system in this scenario is always limited by the shortest range. In order to use 6GHz (U-NII 5), you will need a Bolt 6 on both the TX and RX side.
